Member requirements & expectations

• Have a valid nursing license, LPN, RN or advanced degree.
• Be in good standing with State Board of Nursing.
• Active, inactive or retired, any gender.
• Attend tributes and member meetings.
• Purchase the uniform as described below.
• Complete the application you received via email.
• Pay annual dues.

• Attend tributes when you are able to. 
• There are also several committees you can join. 
• Follow the directions of the assigned Nurse Honor Guard Lead.
• Attend monthly virtual or in person member meetings as possible.
• Attend occasional local tribute rehearsal/training and gatherings.
• Notify a Northeast Ohio Nurse Honor Guard Board Member if there is any change in your state Board of Nursing status.
• Be kind and respectful of other volunteers and family of the fallen nurse colleague.

• Purchase a uniform : traditional white scrub top and bottom. White closed toe shoes, cape and cap.
• Women wear capes with a clasp closure and a nursing cap.
• Men wear capes and a toggle closure. Men do not wear a cap.
• Original cap or cape from school can be worn. 
• You can purchase the fabric and pattern and make the cape yourself. Once you join you will receive the contact information to purchase a cap and cape if needed.
• Annual dues

Possible committees to join are, but not limited to: board member, bylaws, fundraising, volunteer, nominating, regional director and co-director and social media.
